Planning a destination wedding in Florida when you live in Texas can be a challenging feat. That is why Brittney and her mom approached me with help to plan Brittney and Dustin’s Watercolor Lake House wedding. As many guests would be coming into town for their destination wedding, it was important for the couple to create a nice guest experience. That said, the guest experience was always at the forefront of our minds during the planning process.

Their Love Story

Like many love stories these days, Brittney and Dustin met online. While living over an hour away from each other in Texas, these two met for a first date in Austin and instantly hit it off. The two fell in love hard and fast and have been inseparable since day one.

For their one-year anniversary, Dustin planned a surprise proposal at a Fredericksburg winery which completely caught Brittney off guard. Following the proposal, Dustin continued to surprise Brittney with a visit from her parents and his family.

Watercolor Destination Wedding

Brittney needed some help defining her style for her Watercolor wedding. She knew she wanted neutral tones with sage green and was also drawn to more simple and modern design elements. So, I worked with her to create a wedding style that fit her perfectly and included unique design elements.

Watercolor Cerulean Park Ceremony

As this was a day to celebrate not only their marriage but the joining of their family, it was essential to the couple that Dustin’s daughters had a special part in the day. So, during their ceremony, Brittney exchanged vows not only with Dustin but also with his three daughters. After exchanging vows with the daughters, they returned vows in exchange to Brittney. It was such a beautiful and special moment shared; we were all in tears and honored to have witnessed it.

Watercolor Lake House Wedding Reception

When designing Brittney and Dustin’s Watercolor Lake House wedding reception, it was important to them that it felt like an intimate gathering. Even though they had a guest list of one hundred people, they wanted their guests to feel important, as many of them traveled to Florida for this destination wedding.

With this in mind, we crafted a custom celebration with good food, great drinks, and a vibrant atmosphere, thanks to the Shimmer Band. We worked with Em Paper Co to design a wedding pattern that complimented their neutral tones and greenery style. This pattern was not only used in the invitations but incorporated into their reception details of the bar front and seating chart. We also include the monogram from their invitations on their bar front and in various other day of stationery elements. By doing this, we created a cohesive design throughout the guest experience from their homes to the wedding day.

It is always a pleasure to work with clients who give trust in the planning process and lean on our years of experience to guide them. Brittney and her mother were an absolute delight to work with when planning Brittney and Dustin’s Watercolor Lake House wedding. As a destination wedding planner, I love to create unforgettable experiences for you and your guests no matter where they are! So, if you are planning a destination wedding and are looking for a destination wedding planner to help bring your dream wedding to life, let’s chat!
