After spending many summers with her family vacationing in Seaside, Caroline knew it was the perfect setting for her elegant garden party wedding. As the home to many cherished memories with her passed father, it was important to Caroline and Henry to honor Caroline’s family in the celebrations. It was an absolute joy to work with this couple, and I am honored to witness the sweet moments shared with Caroline and her family.
Their Love Story
Caroline and Henry first met in middle school while growing up in Houston, Texas. The two passed each other often in the halls and were acquainted but not close. Those fleeting interactions faded with time as the two ventured into separate paths after high school.
However, fate had intriguing plans for the soon-to-be couple. In 2019, Caroline returned to Houston after completing law school and was eager about her new beginnings. Little did she know that these beginnings would intertwine with Henry’s once again.
Serendipity brought the two together as they matched a dating app. While this match caught Henry’s attention, Caroline unwittingly overlooked this virtual connection. Their paths, though, were destined to cross again. A few weeks later, Caroline and Henry found themselves at a mutual friend’s 30th birthday celebration, fortuitously in the same group socializing. During this party, Caroline re-introduced herself to Henry, who playfully teased her for her prior inattention. From that moment forth, Caroline and Henry’s lives harmoniously converged, kindling an enduring bond that continues to blossom to this day.
The Proposal
On a chilly November morning, Henry had plans that would change the couple’s lives forever. While out for a walk at one of their favorite parks in Houston, Texas, Henry dropped down onto one knee where he professed his love to Caroline and asked her to marry him. After taking a few moments to let the excitement settle in, Caroline and Henry popped some bubbly and celebrated with friends and family who were with them.
Designing A Garden Party Wedding
In some of our first meetings, Caroline shared her vision for an elegant garden party wedding. She expressed the importance of flowers and a beautiful design aesthetic. The couple wanted to host their friends and family to an elegant sit-down dinner under a dreamy sailcloth tent with a garden party vibe. They wanted to transform their tented wedding reception into a beautiful environment that was formal (but not too stuffy and formal) and allowed for a great dance party.
So with help from an incredible vendor team, we created a design that ensured the reception space was not only beautiful but inviting and ready for a good time!
Design Details
For their ceremony at The Chapel At Seaside, simplicity was key. We opted for a touch of white flowers with greenery inside the church and truly let the space speak for itself.
For their garden party wedding reception, we created a beautiful space on the lawn for guests to enjoy cocktail hour. Guests were welcomed with passed hors d’oeuvres and sparking wine as they found their names on the oversized seating chart inspired by the shells found on the beaches in Seaside, FL.
Under the sailcloth tent, a dreamy space awaited. Myrite Blue designed a beautiful floral installation at the tent’s entrance, while lounge groupings with white and wicker furniture were placed near the entrance. Inside, a combination of long and round guest tables were set with moss green linens, light wood chairs and finished with vibrant floral centerpieces. To enhance the garden party wedding aesthetic inside the tent we designed a dreamy installation above the dance floor with lush vines intertwined amongst wicker lanterns. When the sunset, the glow from the tent inside was truly enchanting.
