I first met Nicolette & Luke when they approached me looking for help with their Florida destination wedding in Watercolor, FL. They wanted to provide their guests with a memorable trip to the 30a and our team was happy to help!

Their Love Story

Nicolette and Luke’s love story is for the true romantic at heart; it all started on the historic grounds of Rice University. After four years of friendship on campus, it wasn’t until a spring break trip during senior year that the two truly hit it off.

The two love birds spent their last couple months of school together, inseparable until graduation. After graduation, the young couple chose to take their relationship long distance as Nicolette headed to New York and Luke to Coronado. Over three years and many trips back and forth, the two developed a bond that was unbreakable.

The Proposal

Luke proposed during Nicolette’s annual family ski trip in Vail, Colorado. Every year the two have come together on this trip to unwind, relax and make beautiful memories. From first expressing their love to each other to their new engagement, it has become a special place in their lives.

A Dreamy Florida Destination Wedding

With Luke, originally from San Diego, and Nicolette, from Houston, they knew a destination wedding was in their future. The couple wanted their wedding to be a weekend filled with events and opportunities for their families to come together. Thus, their plans for a memorable Florida destination wedding began!

The couple chose to go with the Lake House at the Watercolor Inn & Resort. It was the perfect Florida wedding venue where out-of-town guests could stay for the weekend and be close to wedding events and activities.

The Design

We chose an ethereal and romantic design with whimsical touches for this Florida destination wedding. Nicolette wanted a pastel wedding color palette with soft pinks and neutral tones. So we assembled the perfect vendor team to bring this vision to life!

Evr Paper did an exceptional job with the invitations and stationery. First, they designed an invitation suite with the most beautiful watercolor painting of Watercolor Florida as the envelope liners. This custom design was then used in the wedding day stationery, from the ceremony programs to wedding welcome bags and even the table numbers. We love it when our couples choose a custom stationery design that continues from their invitations to the wedding day. It allows for a beautiful and cohesive guest experience.

For the ceremony and reception, we worked with Florals By The Sea to create a white and green floral palette with subtle touches of blush pink. Small accents of blush pink were sprinkled throughout the day, from the lounges to the signage and even the wedding party attire. In the reception space, we opted for delicate patterns and textures that transformed the Watercolor Lake House into a light, airy, ethereal dream.

It was an absolute pleasure to get to work with Nicolette and Luke on their Florida destination wedding. With family from as far as Holland, you could sense the love shared for this couple.
